Why Educate Young Women

By empowering these little girls at a young age, they become successful, the society benefits.
Essentially, we all benefit.

million girls are not in school, globally.

million girls of primary school age not in school.

million of these girls will probably never attend the school in their lifetimes.

%

of children who are born to a mother who cannot read or write are not likely to survive past the age of 5.

Mission

Education is the foundation of success. Many girls who aren’t able to become educated in math and science because of their financial status could have become some of the most excelling doctors, scientists, and engineers, if given the chance. When one girl is given the opportunity to learn, she will eventually pass on her knowledge to her family and others. Therefore, helping one girl, helps generations of girls to have a chance to learn, raise healthier families, earn greater salaries, and most importantly, rise above and shine like the ‘gems’ that they truly are.

Vision

Giving under privileged girls a guiding hand in education.

President's Award

The President’s Volunteer Service Award is a prestigious recognition given to exemplary members of, not only their communities, but of the United States Nation as a whole. GEMS has recently been presented with this amazing feat!

“Our project director’s (Amisha Mittal) contribution to GEMS has allowed us to better serve our community, especially the young girls from low income families in the Northern Kentucky area. I tell parents of these young girls that they can be assured that the leader working with their daughters is very passionate, involved, intelligent, and caring. Because of this, more and more mothers are coming in to register their daughters with Amisha”
